The Idle Stop Start (ISS) is designed to prevent unnecessary fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, and noise. When the brake pedal is depressed and the vehicle is stopped, the engine will stop automatically. After the brake pedal is released, the ISS restarts the engine automatically if the selector lever is in the Drive position. The engine also restarts after a period of time. This system does not operate if your vehicle is in reverse. Push the Idle Stop Start Off switch to temporarily deactivate the ISS system. Press again to reactivate the ISS system. Restarting the engine by using the ignition switch will also reactivate the Idle Stop Start System. The status of the Idle Stop Start can be checked in the vehicle information display. A green ECO symbol in the vehicle information display indicates the ISS is ready to stop and start the engine. A yellow ECO symbol is shown when not all conditions are met for the ISS to stop and start the engine. Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations and additional operating information
