Located inside the glove box is the trunk release power cancel switch. When this switch is in the OFF position, power to the trunk lid is canceled and the trunk lid cannot be opened by the trunk lid release switch, the trunk open request switch or the TRUNK button on the Intelligent Key.

When you have to leave a key with a parking valet, you can remove the Mechanical Key, which is concealed inside your Intelligent Key and keep it with you to protect your belongings.

To remove the Mechanical Key, release the lock knob on the back of your Intelligent Key and pull the key out. Now, push the TRUNK RELEASE CANCEL switch inside the glove box to OFF.

Next, using your Mechanical Key, lock the glove box. Then give the Intelligent Key to the valet and keep the Mechanical Key with you. Your belongings in the trunk and glove box will now be secure while you are away from the vehicle.

Nissan Motor Corporation and premium automotive brand INFINITI have unveiled a sleek, open-wheeled electric retro roadster prototype at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The car, called Prototype 9, is a celebration of Nissan Motor and INFINITI's ingenuity, artistry and craftsmanship. It represents a reimagining of a 1940s race car with time-honored production techniques employed to realize its retro design.

"Prototype 9 celebrates the tradition of ingenuity, craftsmanship and passion of our forebears at Nissan Motor Corporation, on whose shoulders we stand today. It started as a discussion: What if INFINITI had created a race car in the 1940s? If one were to imagine an open-wheeled INFINITI racer on the famous circuits of the era, such as Japan's Tamagawa Speedway, what would that look like? The sketches were stunning and the idea so compelling that we had to produce a prototype. As other departments became aware of this, they volunteered their time to create a working vehicle."

The Intelligent Key system allows you to conveniently lock, unlock and start the vehicle, all without removing the Intelligent Key from your pocket or purse.

Up to four Intelligent Keys can be used with one vehicle, provided they’re registered with an INFINITI retailer prior to using the system.

To unlock a door from outside the vehicle, have the Intelligent Key with you and then push THIS request switch on the door handle. That door will unlock. Push the switch again within one minute to unlock all doors.

To lock your vehicle, push any door handle’s request switch once after all doors have been closed.

These lock and unlock functions are operational when the Intelligent Key is within about 2 ½ feet of the corresponding request switch.

The Intelligent Key has remote keyless entry functions that are available within
33 feet of the vehicle.
